Background: Born in 2295, he lived in the United States until he was six years old, and then his mother died and his father moved him to Austria. He went to school and grew up there, and while his father was always good to him, he wasn’t very close or affectionate, and August was too quiet to have many friends. After graduating, he took a job as a navigator on a B-Class vessel, and left to do it, but after awhile his father came and got him, saying he had another job for him. It turned out that job was on the Surveyor for reasons he didn’t really understand at the time.
